These Terms & Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

18. Acceptance

By booking work, accepting a quotation, or allowing work to proceed, you confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.

19. Repairs vs Replacement

  • Repairs may restore function but cannot guarantee long-term performance of ageing systems.
  • Where replacement is advised and declined, we cannot be held liable for future breakdowns or damage.

20. Power Flushing & System Cleaning (IMPORTANT)

Power flushing and chemical cleaning involve inherent risks, particularly on older or poorly maintained systems.

By agreeing to power flushing or system cleaning, you acknowledge that:

  • Existing leaks may be revealed
  • Weak pipework, valves, radiators, or joints may fail
  • Blockages may become dislodged and cause further issues
  • Sludge removal can expose pre-existing corrosion

1066 Gas Ltd cannot be held responsible for failures caused by underlying system conditions. Any additional repairs required as a result will be chargeable.

21. Boiler Repairs (Existing Appliances)

  • Boiler repairs are carried out to restore function only and do not guarantee long-term reliability, particularly on older appliances.
  • Repairs may reveal additional faults once the appliance is operational.
  • We are not responsible for future failures caused by:
  • Age-related wear
  • Corrosion
  • Previous poor installation
  • Manufacturer defects
  • Where replacement is advised and declined, 1066 Gas Ltd accepts no liability for subsequent breakdowns or damage.

22. Boiler Servicing

  • Servicing is preventative maintenance, not a repair or guarantee of continued operation.
  • A service may highlight faults or safety concerns that require additional work.
  • Appliances found to be unsafe may be classified as At Risk or Immediately Dangerous and isolated in line with Gas Safe regulations.
  • We cannot be held responsible for system failure following a service due to underlying faults.

23. Boiler Installations & Replacements

  • Installation quotations are based on visible inspection and information available at the time.
  • Existing pipework, radiators, flues, electrics, or controls may require upgrading to meet current regulations.
  • Any required upgrades identified during installation will be discussed and charged separately.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by structural issues, concealed defects, or third-party works.

24. Power Flushing & Chemical System Cleaning (HIGH-RISK WORK)

Power flushing and chemical cleaning involve inherent risks, particularly on older or poorly maintained systems.

By agreeing to this work, you acknowledge that:

  • Existing leaks may be exposed
  • Weak joints, valves, radiators, or pipework may fail
  • Sludge removal may expose pre-existing corrosion
  • Blockages may shift and cause further faults

1066 Gas Ltd accepts no liability for failures caused by the underlying condition of the system. Any additional repairs required as a result will be chargeable.

25. Magnetic Filters, Inhibitors & System Additives

  • Filters and inhibitors help reduce future issues but cannot reverse existing corrosion or damage.
  • We are not responsible for system failures caused by historic sludge, debris, or neglect prior to installation.

26. Radiators, Valves & Pipework

  • Replacing or working on radiators and valves may disturb aged pipework.
  • We are not liable for leaks or failures in existing pipework once the system is re-pressurised.
  • Decorative finishes, boxing, tiling, or flooring disturbed during works are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

27. Central Heating System Upgrades

  • Partial upgrades may expose weaknesses in other system components.
  • Where customers choose not to replace recommended items, liability for future issues rests with the customer.
  • System balancing and efficiency improvements depend on overall system condition.

28. Underfloor Heating

  • Underfloor heating systems rely on correct floor construction and insulation.
  • We are not responsible for performance issues caused by:
  • Insufficient insulation
  • Floor coverings
  • Structural limitations
  • Pressure testing is carried out where applicable; however, concealed pipework cannot be visually inspected once covered.

29. Plumbing Repairs & Leak Investigation

  • Leak tracing may require investigative works that cause disruption.
  • We are not responsible for damage to concealed pipework or finishes required to locate or repair leaks.
  • Secondary damage caused by pre-existing leaks is not our responsibility.

30. Emergency Call-Out Work

  • Emergency work is intended to make systems safe or operational, not to provide permanent repairs.
  • Follow-up work may be required and will be quoted separately.
  • Emergency attendance does not guarantee immediate resolution.

31. Customer-Supplied Parts & Appliances

  • We do not provide warranties on customer-supplied materials.
  • We are not responsible for compatibility, quality, or failure of customer-supplied items.
  • Labour costs remain payable regardless of part failure.

32. Asbestos, Lead & Hazardous Materials

  • We are not licensed to remove asbestos or hazardous materials.
  • If suspected, work will stop immediately, and specialist contractors must be engaged.
  • Any delays or additional costs are the customer’s responsibility.

33. Water Quality & System Condition

  • Poor water quality can significantly impact system performance.
  • We are not liable for failures caused by limescale, sludge, corrosion, or contaminated systems.

34. Customer Decisions & Declined Recommendations

  • Where safety upgrades or repairs are recommended and declined, liability transfers to the customer.
  • We reserve the right to refuse work that may compromise safety or compliance.

35. Damage Limitations

  • We take all reasonable care; however, older systems may fail without warning.
  • Our liability remains limited to the value of the work undertaken.

36. Acknowledgement of Risk

By proceeding with any works, particularly those outlined above, the customer confirms they understand and accept the risks associated with working on existing or ageing systems.

37. Right to Refuse or Stop Work

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate works immediately if abusive, threatening, or aggressive behaviour is directed toward our staff or contractors.

38. Cooling-Off Period Acknowledgement

Where applicable, customers acknowledge their statutory cooling-off rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Where work is requested to begin within this period, the customer accepts that cancellation rights may be affected.

39. Post-Completion Responsibility

Once work has been completed and accepted, the customer is responsible for the operation and monitoring of the system.

40. System Noise & Heat Distribution

Noise levels, heat distribution, and system performance may vary depending on property layout, insulation, and system condition.

41. Access Times & Waiting Charges

Where access is not available at the agreed time, waiting time or return visits may be chargeable.

42. Third-Party Instructions

Instructions received from third parties are accepted on the basis that they have authority to do so.

43. Title to Removed Equipment

Removed equipment becomes the property of 1066 Gas Ltd unless otherwise agreed.

44. Software & Smart Controls

We are not responsible for software updates, app compatibility, or third-party smart control platforms.

45. Unpaid Invoices & Debt Recovery

We reserve the right to recover reasonable costs incurred in recovering unpaid debts, including administrative and legal costs.

46. Retention of Title

All materials and equipment supplied remain the property of 1066 Gas Ltd until paid for in full, even if installed.

47. Photography & Marketing Consent

We may take photographs of works for records or marketing purposes. No personal or identifiable information will be shared without consent.

48. Parking, Permits & Access Costs

Any parking permits, parking fees, or access costs required are the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise.

49. Waste Removal

Removal and disposal of waste materials is included only where specifically agreed.

50. Classification & Isolation of Unsafe Gas Appliances

Where gas appliances or installations are found to be unsafe, they may be classified as At Risk or Immediately Dangerous in accordance with Gas Safe regulations. We reserve the right to isolate such appliances where necessary for safety. We accept no liability for loss of use resulting from isolation.

51. Customer Refusal of Safety Work

Where safety-related work is recommended and declined, the customer accepts full responsibility for the condition and operation of the appliance or installation.

52. Pre-Existing Gas Non-Compliance

We are not responsible for pre-existing gas installations or appliances that do not meet current regulations unless specifically agreed as part of the works.

53. Ventilation & Combustion Air

Adequate ventilation is essential for safe gas appliance operation. We are not responsible for performance or safety issues arising from inadequate ventilation not previously disclosed.

54. Gas Tightness Testing

Gas tightness testing confirms system integrity at the time of testing only. We cannot be held responsible for leaks or failures that develop after completion.

55. Carbon Monoxide Alarms

The customer is responsible for ensuring suitable carbon monoxide alarms are installed and maintained in accordance with current guidance.

56. Right to Refuse or Stop Work (General)

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or stop work if conditions are unsafe, abusive, non-compliant with regulations, or if required information is withheld.
